Infusion therapy
Infusion therapy products are essential medications, mainly used in surgery, intensive and emergency medicine and on general wards. Fresenius Kabi in Graz produces I.V. applications for pain treatment, fluid substitution, non-beta-lactam antibiotics, anti-infectives, anaesthetics, and other fields.
Depending on the dissolving properties of the active ingredients I.V. drugs are aqueous solutions or fat emulsions. Validated manufacturing processes, either aseptic or including terminal sterilization, lead to sterile products of the highest quality. Optimized Fresenius Kabi packaging secures product safety and easy handling for application.
Parenteral nutrition
Parenteral nutrition is an intravenous form of clinical nutrition and helps patients who cannot eat any, or sufficient, regular food. This is especially the case for patients in intensive care units. Systems of total parenteral nutrition (TPN) contain the macro components required by the body - amino acids, carbohydrates in the form of glucose, and unsaturated fatty acids.
The Fresenius Kabi Austria product portfolio includes individual components and complete systems of total parenteral nutrition. While our largest output in this product segment is in glass bottles, our semi-automatic bag filling processes allow us to suit highly individual customer wishes. Our expertise in packaging technologies, especially in the complexities of processing oxygen-permeable plastics, guarantees easy application and maximum shelf lives.
Sterile applications
Other sterile pharmaceuticals contributing to our multi-faceted portfolio are diagnostics products such as imaging contrast agents, and medical devices in the form of irrigation and preservation solutions.
